The main differences between the generally accepted studies such as typle-1 (Cg/Cgk), type-2 and type-3 (%GRR) studies or linearity and stability studies are the calculation methods and in the limits. solara.MP provides multiple evaluation methods based on various guidelines of the automotive industry, including those of the MSA and the AIAG Core Tools (formally known as QS-9000).

VDA Volume 5 is the European equivalent to the MSA manual and evaluates measurement processes based on measurement uncertainty. The expanded measurement uncertainty is calculated with the help of pragmatical methods that are quite as pragmatical as capability analyses. These methods follow GUM (Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement) or DIN EN V 13005. The software combines uncertainty components into measurement uncertainty budgets to calculate the expanded measurement uncertainty U.

While the “Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement (GUM)” explains the theoretical backgrounds of the calculation of expanded measurement uncertainty, solara.MP actually creates an uncertainty model for every inspection process for immediate visualization. solara.MP will display the relationship between the uncertainty components in a clear flow chart with each box representing an uncertainty component. These uncertainty components can be edited with a mouse click. The combined standard uncertainty and the expanded uncertainty is calculated based on input of an intuitive logical operation formula.
